The Italian Youth Forum (IYF), organised every year by the Italian Youth Association for UNESCO, is back!
The Forum, now in its fifth edition, will take place this year in Turin from 14 to 16 April and will bring together AIGU Members from all over Italy along with national and international experts.
The event, which to date has received the patronage of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO and of the Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, will revolve around the theme of UNESCO Creative Cities. The city chosen to host IYF 2023 will therefore be Turin, UNESCO Creative City for Design and the only Italian city in this category.
The UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) was established in 2004 with the aim of promoting cooperation among cities that have chosen creativity as a driver of sustainable urban development, in line with the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
The cities that belong to the network in a specific creative field (Crafts and Folk Art, Design, Media Arts, Gastronomy, Music, Literature, Film) collaborate and create synergies to pursue common growth objectives at the local level while also projecting themselves onto the international stage.
While last year’s edition of the Italian Youth Forum in Cagliari led us to reflect on the forms of human creativity that are established and recognised as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, this year the Italian Youth Forum in Turin aims to give space to the dimension of creativity in the making, capable of shaping the city and the citizens of the future.
