As part of the “Fabriano Carta è Cultura” festival, and on the occasion of the UNESCO Creative Cities Forum, a session dedicated to upper secondary school students was held, entitled “Bringing Youth to the Table of the Next Decade”. The session, inspired by the theme of this year’s UNESCO world conference, actively involved students in reflecting on a topic
crucial for the future: paper in the digital age.
The importance of including their vision in a discussion that looks to the future of our society and our cultural heritage, their creativity and their point of view were considered fundamental to imagining new forms of integration between tradition and innovation.
A priority theme for UNESCO is recognising the central role of young people in the development of communities. The vision and participation of young people in decision-making and action processes are fundamental to facing the challenges of the future. The works produced with cultural and creative skills reveal an awareness of the need to integrate the digital with tradition — which do not exclude each other, but can complement and enrich one another.
The event was attended by AIGU President Gianluca Buoncore and National Coordinator Giulio Del Giudice, together with national and international guests.
Thanks to initiatives like this, the creative city of Fabriano continues to demonstrate how tradition and the future can come together, enhancing historical heritage and opening up new paths through the contribution of young people.
