A photographic and documentary exhibition on UNESCO heritage sites in Calabria, curated by Silvio Gatto.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday 7 October at 6 pm at Palazzo Nicotera in Lamezia Terme (province of Catanzaro), and will be open until 24 October.
The exhibition will feature the sites included in the UNESCO lists across the region: the Pollino Geopark, part of the European and Global Geoparks Network since 2015; the Sila Biosphere Reserve, tenth in the world network of sites of excellence; the Aspromonte Geopark, which joined the Global Geoparks in 2021; the Codex of Rossano, included in the “New inscriptions on the International Memory of the World Register”; the cathedral of Cosenza recognised as “Heritage Witness to a Culture of Peace” under the programme launched by UNESCO in the year 2000; the Varia di Palmi, included since 2013 in the oral and intangible heritage of humanity; and the Greek language of Calabria, included in the World Atlas of Endangered Languages.
