Gian Marco Parrella, born in 1996, lives in Saint-Pierre, a small alpine gem located between Aosta and Courmayeur. He holds a degree in journalism and a specialisation in comparative philology, and works as a journalist and theatre consultant for the Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley. His interests and passions are manifold and are reflected in the variety of his experiences: he has worked with Massimo Bottura, acted as a consultant for the coffee industry and was a theatre researcher at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and the Royal Opera House Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman. Within this medley, writing in all its forms is his principal activity. Within the Italian Youth Association for Unesco, Gian Marco organises cultural events in the firm belief that culture and life are inseparable: Unesco Heritage needs the breath, the flesh and the emotions of people in order to live, and people need that Heritage to give meaning to and illuminate their own experiences.
